Laurence Nerbonne

Laurence Nerbonne is a pop singer, songwriter, producer and rhythmic designer. Her urban pop is at times outspoken and demanding, at other times luminous and emotional, always wrapped in catchy melodies and innovative production.

Winner of the JUNO award in 2017 for Francophone album of the year in Canada with her very first solo album, XO, which squarely redefined pop in Quebec, she has been racking up distinctions ever since. Crowned Radio-Canada revelation in 2016, recipient of the SOCAN Awards the same year, nominated at ADISQ for her albums XO and FEU, awarded the Gilles Vigneault Award for her work as a songwriter by SPACQ in 2021. She is constantly reinventing herself, bringing a breath of fresh air and depth to local pop in musical productions of international calibre.

Over the years, she has multiplied her collaborations with renowned artists such as Banx & Ranx, Fouki, Koriass, Tizzo, Mitsou and Corneille, to name a few. Laurence Nerbonne not only wears all the hats of self-production, but also composes and produces for other artists, as well as creating film music (Guillaume Lambert’s Niagara). In 2021, she will compose and produce the theme song for Star Académie.

Her 4th album “Le ciel est beau regarde les nuages” will be released on March 29, 2024. On this album, Laurence returns to her first love. On happy, summery tunes, she deals with darker subjects such as hyper-performance, self-sabotage, the end of the world and resilience.
