Originally from Kapuskasing and proud of her roots, Reney stands out for her ability to tell her stories in both official languages, with heart and serene authenticity. She released a self-titled debut album in 2018, including the hits Le monde est con and Online, followed by a 2nd, À l’Ouest du réel, in March 2021.  Since the release of her album À l’ouest du réel in May 2021, Reney Ray has traveled a unique musical path, presenting her temporary tour in March 2022, between Montreal and Ontario. This unprecedented series of shows marked her gradual return to the stage, following the pandemic and a series of personal challenges.

In 2022, she won “Franco-Canadian Songwriter of the Year” at the Canadian Folk Music Awards, and “Francophone Artist of the Year” at the Country Music Association of Ontario Awards. In the fall of 2023, she won “Coup de cœur du public” at the Gala Trille Or for Ontario and Western Canada. Reney has performed throughout Quebec, Ontario and New Brunswick with her own musical project, including at Festivoix and the Festival international de la chanson de Granby, opening for 2Frères, Roch Voisine and Alexandre Poulin, and showcasing at Canadian Music Week in Toronto, the International Folk Alliance in Kansas City, the North East Regional Folk Alliance in New Jersey and the FrancoFête de l’Acadie in Dieppe, New Brunswick.

In 2023, Reney received nominations in the Artistic Initiatives and Web Presence categories, as well as the People’s Choice award at the Gala Trille Or in Ontario. She was also nominated in the Francophone Artist of the Year category at the CMAO Awards, and reached the semi-finals of the International Songwriter Competition in Nashville for her songs in English. She will unveil her 3rd album, L’album Temporaire, in April 2024.
