Souldia thinks of rap like a knife is sharpened. For the past twenty years, he has been imposing his charismatic presence on the Quebec scene with his dangerously precise pen and equally sharp verve.

The release of his first solo album – “Art Kontrol” – in 2009 generated a monster effect, and the Souldia hurricane hit Quebec almost instantly. On the strength of albums “Double tranchant” (2011) with rapper Saye, “Les origines du mal” (2012) and “Krime Grave” (2014), “Amsterdam”, the fruit of a memorable collaboration with Rymz (2016), “Sacrifice” (2016), “Ad Vitam Aeternam” (2017), “Survivant” (2018), “Backstage” (2020), “Silence radio” (2020), “OFF” (2020) in collaboration with Tizzo, “Dixque d’art” (2021), will be consecrated rap album of the year at the 2022 ADISQ Gala. With “Non conventionnel” (2023), Souldia refuses to fit into the mold. A golden opportunity for the unshakeable Limoilou rapper to prove that it’s possible to renew oneself without following the crowd.

A regular at the top of the province’s record sales charts, he has racked up sold-out concerts and nominations (“Album of the Year – Rap” and “Album of the Year – Best Seller” at the ADISQ Gala, and “Album of the Year – Rap” at the GAMIQ).

With over 200,000 followers on social networks, 160 million cumulative listens in his career and over 158 million cumulative views on YouTube, Souldia is definitely stirring the collective pot. A self-confessed black sheep, he has managed to create his own space in which to evolve. Along the way, the irreducible Limoilou artist has never forced his way into anything, relying instead on instinct and his cut-throat pencil. The growing numbers and abundance of supporters prove him right.
