Mat Carrière
A 23-year-old singer-songwriter, Mat Carrière has been passionate about music since he was very young. Originally from Gatineau, he has developed his craft as a self-taught artist. A guitarist and pianist, he sings and writes his own songs, which are driven by sincere and personal lyrics.
His musical style is primarily inspired by country music, particularly Bailey Zimmerman—an influence that is reflected in his melodies and his way of telling stories drawn from his own life experiences.
Mat has a wide range of live performance experience. He has performed numerous shows at school concerts, including Secondaire en spectacle and Cégep en spectacle. He has also performed at festivals and in restaurant-bar venues, in addition to taking part in several benefit shows for various foundations. Furthermore, he participated in the TV show La Voix Junior, where he made it all the way to the blind auditions—a defining experience in his artistic journey.
Through his songs, Mat seeks to share moments from his life and emotions that are uniquely his own. Looking ahead, his goal is to share his artistic vision, continue developing his musical skills, and deepen his songwriting craft, all while forging an authentic connection with his audience.
